Video: Table Saw Daredevil Shows What NOT to Do

Warning: YOU WILL CRINGE AND POSSIBLY CURSE OUT LOUD.

Reactions at SawmillCreek range from dark, uncontrolled laughter to indignant rage at the idiocy displayed in this video posted to YouTube about 2 years ago.

Lee Schierer in that same SMC thread saw 16 safety issues. Here are his top five to get you started:
1. Lifting the weight of the motor with a bucket & 2 x 4 and hoping it stays put while holding the belt with pliers near the motor pulley.

2. Kick starting the motor instead of replacing the capacitor.

3. Wearing flip flops while trying to start the motor with his foot, balanced on the other foot.

4. Operating the saw with the switch on the other side out of reach.

5. Doing a cross cut with the miter gauge and fence in combination.

I was prepared to laugh until I saw that a-hole had his daughter in the room!

  2. toolcrib Says:

Hey Anthony – that’s where the rage part comes in…

He’s wearing a different shirt by the time he fires up his table saw, which some at SMC think indicate that time went by… enough time to get his daughter out of the room.

I really hope that’s what happened anyways.

  3. chain saw lover Says:

What a tool! And I mean that in the nicest way possible!

But for reals, that was super dangerous, eeek!
